Pro-Ject teamed up with Triangle and JJ Electronics to show a plethora of new phono models while Triangle Acoustique's Magellan Concerto SW2 not only looked the part but sounded terrific, breaking the golden rule that it takes a smaller speaker to avoid room problems. Importer Voice wasn't afraid to spin large-scale orchestral and this exhibit had what it took. Bravo.

Q Acoustics was there as one of the many brands I'd never encountered before, this one from the UK.

QBA has a profile similar to the aforementioned Akkus by supporting the DIY markets as well as providing turnkey solutions.

A series of CD and Birch ply component racks by Alubase already spotted in the Manley exhibit called out for further coverage by virtue of being simple, effective, well made and affordable.

RCM began life as an import house but has since grown into manufacturing their own tube integrated amplifier which, a gut feeling tells me, is a very serious machine bearing further inspections.

A review of the RCM Bonasus appeared in High Fidelity and the following photo of its innards is but one of many published there.
By way of a reality check, the RCM people took a break from playback over the Duevel speakers with a live performance by Blues duo Wolfgang Berneuther and Rudi Bayer who had driven 1100 kilometers to get there.

Equally appreciative of this performance proved Andrew Harrison of HiFi News, seen here hunkering down to take a photo for his own show report. Andrew has been to this event already five times in the past, one of which -- so I'm told -- introduced him to his Polish lady friend.

Over dinner with Adam, we got to share insights from the publishing end of things. Andrew turned out to be a marvelously friendly chap with true enthusiasm for the craft and a sportsman-like appreciation for all the nefarious challenges that can bedevil audio reviewing. It also became clear that despite his magazine's status, someone in his position must wear many hats at once rather than sitting pretty in a cushy chair to play power ball as a famous reviewer prima donna.
